Permit Point Building Consultants is a private building surveying & consultancy firm established in 2012, offering professional services in building permits & regulatory advice on both residential and commercial projects. A great opportunity exist within our firm for a person with relevant industry experience for a building surveyor/assistant building surveyor. The right applicant is to have a minimum two years’ experience in the building surveying industry who has completed his studies and working towards gaining his/her registration.

Duties

  • Review small to medium scale class 1a and 10a building project documentation and prepare regulatory compliance assessment reports for review.
  • Review small & medium scale class 2-9 building projects documentation and prepare regulatory compliance assessment reports for review.
  • Assist other staff members with building surveying matters and QA projects with other staff.
  • Preparing Part 3, 4, 5 & 6 regulation Report & Consent applications to councils.
  • Preparing MFB/CFA Regulation 309 Applications.
  • General customer service and client liaison;
  • Liaise with sub contract inspectors;
  • Issuing draft building permits for approval;
  • Issue draft final certificates and occupancy permits for approval;

The applicant will be provided with Support and assistance; however, the successful candidate must have:

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Enthusiastic and positive character
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Sound legislative knowledge
  • Capacity to work unsupervised
  • Building Regulation Part 4 sitting/Rescode experience.
  • Preparing Part 3, 4, 5 & 6 regulation Report & Consent applications to councils.
  • Recognized academic Surveying Qualifications and eligibility for AIBS membership.
